Jakarta PPKM Level 2, Odd Even Still Valid on 13 Streets
The implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM) level 2 is implemented in DKI Jakarta. Even so, odd-even on 13 roads in the Capital City will still apply.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the odd-even policy was an effort to suppress the mobility of residents. "We will continue to maintain these 13 roads," said Syafrin at the DPRD Building. According to him, the odd-even goal at PPKM level 2 is different from the policy before the pandemic. In the previous policy, odd-even aims to change the way the people of Jakarta move, from using private vehicles to public transportation. Meanwhile, now, the policy is an effort to suppress community mobility, especially in the midst of the widespread transmission of the Corona virus. "It should be understood that the current odd-even application is not in the context of transferring users of private vehicle services to public transportation but rather for mobility control," said Syafrin.
