2022, Cyber Crime Still Threats Business Sector

Cybercrime is projected to still threaten various business/industry sectors and will not subside by 2022. Therefore, business players need to maintain an aggressive and healthy cybersecurity posture to contain as much risk as possible in the event of a potential violation.
Meanwhile, the threat of cybercrime has grown drastically in the last two years, including in Indonesia, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. McAfee Enterprise also observed that there were an average of 688 threats per minute in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 40 threats per minute compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. Therefore, heading into 2022, it is very important for companies to learn from the things that happened over the last 12 months. Organizations/companies are advised to be able to identify their most important information and data and apply the principle of least limited access rights. “It is difficult to say whether the threat of cloud crime will increase substantially by 2022, but what is certain is that the sophistication of cyberattacks is increasing and evolving every year,” said Jonathan Tan, Managing Director, Asia, McAfee Enterprise.
