Subsidized Cooking Oil Must Be Labeled

The All-Indonesian Market Traders Association (APPSI) asked for cooking oil products subsidized by the government to be specially labeled. Both market traders and shops providing subsidized oil also need to be labeled.
This is to avoid misuse of subsidized product prices, as well as consumers can receive prices according to government regulations. “We hope whoever it is, traders in traditional markets or modern retailers, will be given a price tag. So that people will not be fooled," said Deputy Chairperson of APPSI, Ngadiran, to Republika, Wednesday (12/1). The price of subsidized cooking oil is set at Rp. 14 thousand per liter. The total volume to be prepared will reach a total of 1.2 billion liters and will be prepared for the next six months. Ngadiran said, those who are given a permit to trade subsidized cooking oil must also be under supervision. Supervision must be carried out by the Ministry of Trade, regional offices, and each regional apparatus. "The stock of goods must be monitored, whether the goods are are still there, run out, or pretended to be out. Make sure the public can get it, "he said.
