Mobile Internet Users Are Increasingly Skyrocketing

PT Smartfren Tbk noted that Internet data usage grew by more than 20 percent every quarter, since last year.
Smartfren's Chief Executive Officer, Djoko Tata Ibrahim, targets an increase in data usage by attracting more new customers. Until the end of 2020 Smartfren subscribers reached 30 million. "Now we will add 40 million subscribers," he said yesterday. Smartfren will target new customers in residential areas. Djoko said the growth of users in housing is very significant compared to users in office areas. The number is also much higher than overseas users, whose numbers have decreased dramatically in the midst of the pandemic. One of Smartfren's strategies to attract customers in residential areas is to launch Gokil Max, which offers local quotas double the national quota plus a bonus quota which is active at 01.00-05.00 WIB. The available package options start from 9 GB plus a 30 GB bonus for Rp. 30 thousand to a 36 GB package plus a 70 GB bonus for Rp. 70 thousand. "This product is issued in accordance with current consumer needs, namely large quotas, affordable prices, for needs when more at home," he said. From the network side, Smartfren is preparing to launch 5G technology. This company won the auction for the 2.3 GHz frequency and received an empty block with a bandwidth of 10 MHz, with a bid value of Rp. 176.5 billion per block.
